For the past couple of months I’ve been having a serious problem, namely no internet connection. It all came about when I lost my job here in Bangkok and as a result was forced to dramatically cut my living expenses. The first thing I did was move from my US$1400.00 a month apartment into US$225.00 a month place. Unfortunately the new flat doesn’t have wifi, so I have to go out and use a nearby internet cafe or sit in a bar and surf whilst downing a …

Find new hosting

I’m having serious financial difficulties at the moment, so the time has come to cut costs and find cheaper hosting.
For the past 9 years (!!) I’ve had a dedicated server that costs me US$212 a month (it was more but I downgraded it last year).
I love having the flexibility of my own dedicated box, but at that cost I just cannot justify it at the moment. The problem is going to be moving all my domains, re-creating email accounts etc which is one reason I’ve not moved before. …

As mentioned in my first post to the “Things to do” category I switched themes over a week ago and still hadn’t put up a proper logo.
One reason was that I don’t have an actual logo. One day I’d like to get a designer to create one for me, but at the moment food is more important to me so I’ll had to create one myself.
Next problem… I’m not very good with Photoshop… solution ? A free online logo creator of course !
The one I used was this …

I’ve added a new category to the site - Things to do - which I’m going to use as my way to remind myself of the various things I need to do around here, things I want to do and ideas for things I might do. Like most people I’m terrible at remembering things unless I write them down, I’m also guilty of putting things off or being distracted. As a result there are a ton of things on this site that need to be addressed. …

If this works then I’ll post more details later.
Edited:
Well that worked, so what exactly is TweetSuite ? TweetSuite is a Wordpress Plugin that automatically (assuming you want it to) send out a Tweet everytime you post an entry on your blog. Not only that but it adds an option for your site visitors to tweet your posts and shows all the people that have done so, with an option to re-tweet their tweets.
You can download the plugin from http://danzarrella.com/beyond-tweetbacks-introducing-tweetsuite.html
Tweet this or any of my other posts to give …

In my seemingly neverending quest for the perfect theme I decided yesterday to switch the theme on TheAdsenseIdiot once again.
I’ve been using the Arthemia Theme on another of my website projects (one which isn’t quite ready for mainstream but I will show you soon), anyway I really like the theme and so decided to install it here.
I haven’t had time to fully set it up yet, but as I’m already using it elsewhere it shouldn’t take too long to get things looking right here.
In the meantime if …

I’ve just added 2 great plugin to this site, WPTouch and WordTwit.
My good friend Eric over at Siamcomm.com showed me a great plugin the other day called WPTouch which formats your blog so it displays nicely on iPhones and iPod Touches. Previously I had used another similar plugin but this one is much better so its now active on The Adsense Idiot for anyone that visiting on their Touch or iPhone.
The second plugin, WordTwit automatically sends a Tweet whenever you make a new post. So this posy should …

Finally got around to upgrading to Wordpress 2.7 today. If you run any type of script based website such as Wordpress then you should always make sure to upgrade as soon as possible when a new version is released, not only does this usually mean new and improved functionality but more importantly it usually means important bug and security fixes.
In the case of Wordpress 2.7 the entire backend interface has been changed. I’ve not had time to really explore all the changes in this version but the backend …

The title says it all really… I’ve just upgraded the software running this blog to the latest version (2.6.5).
Its always important to make sure you have the latest version of Wordpress (or whatever blogging software you use) as apart from the occasional new feature, the new version usually fix any bugs or security holes in the software.

Problems at work have stopped me from doing any work on this blog for the past month (sometimes I really do wonder where the hell time goes). Anyway today I decided to do an update of sorts and noticed that the comments were displaying really poorly on the theme I was using. So it was back to the drawing board (or rather back the Google search) to try once again to find a suitable theme.
I discovered this theme called ‘The Morning After’ (more info here http://code.google.com/p/the-morning-after/ ) which …
