I’ve just checked and Google has started indexing pages from this site, which is awesome as they wouldn’t index the old domain no matter what I tried.   So far its only a couple of pages, but its a start.

I’d like to be able to report some more good news but that is sadly it for today’s update.  I’ve been having an issue with the backend here and dealing with that has meant I’ve not been able to get much else done.

Still now that Google is showing me some love I’m feeling all positive and will be churning out some more interesting articles soon.

Another week and I’ve been getting more love from MSN, a bit of flirting from Yahoo but Google is completely shunning my advances… I’ve checked everything and its now pretty clear that this domain has been blacklisted by Google.  Apparently I can resubmit the domain to Google and they *might* re-index it, but I’m wondering how they’ll take a site like this ?  I’m also wondering if its even really necessary, not being indexed by Google will certainly make it harder to grow the site, but will it make it impossible ?  I don’t think so, but at the same time I am mulling over whether I should get a new domain.

Anyway onto the numbers for last week

Yahoo - 59 pages up from 23 pages last week - thats an increase of 36 pages
Google - Still 0 pages
MSN    - 207 pages up from 137 pages last week - an increase of 70 pages

Total - 266 pages up from 160 pages last week

Growth - 106 pages

Thats not bad at all.

RSS feed - 10 readers as of today - up from 9 readers this time last week.

These stats fluctuate daily but I think a weekly snapshot is still worth seeing.

This week I’m getting some love from MSN, but still nothing from Google… which has me worried as I’m not sure if that means this domain has been blacklisted by Google…

Yahoo  - 23 pages up from 22 pages last week
Google -  Still 0 pages
MSN    - 137 pages up from 60 pages last week

Total   - 160 pages up from 82 pages last week

Growth - 78 pages

I’m quite pleased with that despite the lack of Google activity.

Another stat I thought I’d track is how many people are reading my RSS feed, as of this moment Feedburner is showing 9 readers, last week it peaked at 23 but obviously some of the people that signed up have decided to drop me :-(  Still its early days and until this blog starts to be really useful I don’t expect many people to bother reading it.

Oh one last thing, today I noticed <a href=”http://www.johnchow.com”>John Chow of johnchow.com</a> showed up in my recent readers :-)  I guess he’s checking out the competition LOL !!!

I just received my first cheque from google, for an amazing US$117.00.   Amazing because being the idiot I am I let several months slide past without building so much as a single new page.  All my revenue has been coming from 2 domains and relatively few indexed pages.  Given the income generated by this pitifully low page count I feel like even more of an idiot.  If I’d gotten off my lazy behind I’m sure I would have made a lot more money.

One thing though it sure is motivational getting a cheque and so I’ve started making the necessary plans for expanding my empire.  I’ve acquired my first VPS account to add to the 3 reseller accounts I’ve got and my dedicated server.  All those servers and only 2 domains - I must be a raving lunatic.

I’m going to buy approx 50 new domains to put on the VPS.  Then start building some sites.

About time really.
